Our Story
About What We Do & How We Got Here
Richard Wertheimer and Clint Dodson co-founded Fort Street in 2019 after working together at Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management office in Hawaii. Fort Street is supported by a highly experienced and accomplished team of investment and business professionals. We have managed the core portfolio since 2016 and launched the Fort Street AM LP Fund in 2022 to broaden our investment scope and improve operational efficiency. While we don’t aspire to be all things to all people, we take a holistic approach to managing client funds, focusing first and foremost on capital preservation. Most of our net worth is invested alongside Fort Street investors, ensuring our interests are aligned.
OUR NAMESAKE
Fort Street Asset Management is located on Fort Street, in the heart of downtown Honolulu. The street marks the original location of Honolulu Fort, built in 1816 by the Russians but later taken over by the Hawaiian authorities, who expanded it to become the largest structure in the islands. It protected Honolulu Harbor and served as the administrative center of the Hawaiian kingdom until 1857.

2022
The core portfolio was protected in excess of the S&P 500 by 8.6%. While the S&P was down -19.4%, FSAM was down -10.8%.
2021
The core portfolio was up 20.4% in 2021, compared to a 14.8% return in a blended 60/40 Portfolio benchmark (DGSIX).
2020
The core portfolio was up 22.5% in 2020, compared to a 16.3% return in the S&P 500, and 11.6% in the 60/40 Portfolio.
